CBI has asked the West Bengal government to help in finding Rajiv Kumar

Kolkata: The CBI has asked the West Bengal government to

help in finding Rajiv Kumar.

The CBI had asked IPS Rajiv Kumar to

appear for questioning at 2 pm on Monday.

Rajiv Kumar had also approached the Barasat court of

North 24 Parganas requesting anticipatory bail.

Sources said that Rajiv Kumar’s lawyer had

approached the Barasat court on Saturday,

Sources said that on the orders of the Supreme Court,

the CBI is investigating the Saradha chit fund scam case

worth crores of rupees.

The CBI had asked the former Commissioner of Police

to appear for questioning after the Calcutta High Court

withdrew the order protecting Rajiv Kumar from arrest in the case.

The CBI also moved the Barasat court today,

requesting an order for the non-bailable arrest of Rajiv Kumar.

On the other hand, the former police commissioner

has opposed the summons of the this agency

and requested for relief till September 25 citing his illness.

The CBI on Sunday went to the West Bengal government’s state secretariat,

Nabanna and left two sealed letters in a sealed envelope

for state police chief Virender requesting information about Rajiv Kumar.

The CBI sent a summons notice to the former police commissioner

at his government residence at 34 Park Street,

hours after the Calcutta High Court withdrew

the order protecting Rajiv Kumar from arrest on September 13.

Rajiv Kumar is being reported missing since the agency summoned him for questioning.

He is officially on leave. During this time,

AgencyI officials have returned from their home.

However, this information has been shared with the

West Bengal government that Rajiv Kumar’s house has been summoned.
