Court issued death sentence for7 accused in Dhaka gulshan terror attack


Dhaka: Court has given its order after almost three and a half years

after the Gulshan militant attack at Dhaka. The court sentenced seven

people to death on July 26, 2016 case in connection with the

commemoration of the terrorist attack on Gulshan in the arid area of


Mizanur Rahman alias Bari Mizan has been acquitted. Earlier on

Wednesday, he was produced before the court from the Central Jail in

strict security.

At the same time, eight accused, with a victory sign inside the

PrisonVan, smiled and entered the court. One of them had a foot

problem and he went to the court with a crutch.

The convicted accused are Rajiv Gandhi, Rakibul Hasan Reagan,

handcuffed Sohail Mahfuz, Hadisur Rahman Sagar, Rashed Islam alias

Abu Jarra alias Raz Sha, Shariful Islam alias Khaled and Mamunur

Rashid alias Ripid. At the end of the verdict, they were sent to jail

with a sentencing warrant.

In response to the urgent response of Dhaka City Metropolitan

Detective Police (AC) Mohammad Rabiul Karim’s mother Karimon,

who was killed in the terrorist attack, She said that I waited three and

a half years for this day. I am satisfied that the accused was hanged.

She demanded immediate action.

The court’s immediate response to the court premises after the

declaration of the state’s lawyer, Abdullah Abu Roy, said militants

were tried under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Their crime is undoubtedly proven. The plaintiff is a lawyer for the

state party. The defendant’s lawyer, Delwar Hossain, said the appeal

will be filed  in the high court.

Militants brutally killed 25 people, including foreign nationals, on the

night of July 1 in the attack on the Holy Artizan of Gulshan. Two

police officers were also killed in the attack.

Court security was tightned today

Security measures were strengthened in the court house and its

adjoining areas.  verdict of the deadly terrorist attack in Gulshan,


Additional Commissioners of the Metropolitan Police, Mir Rezaul

Alam and Krishna Paddy Roy visited the area. During this time,

Lalbagh gave different directions to the DC and the prosecution of the

law bench with special security of the premises. Dhaka court’s DC

prosecution Zafar Hossain said security has been  strengthened in the

court. There is no possibility of attack.
