Congress is now surrounded by questions on farmer debt waiver

  • Party raised this issue on loksabha elections also

  • Party got success in many states during ealier election

  • This was the first decision of the government in Madhya Pradesh

  • Congress of Jharkhand believes that decision will be taken soon

Ranchi: Congress leaders do not make everyday statements on farmer debt

waiver. Even after the daily statements issued by the Congress on CAA and other

issues, the question of when farmers’ debt will be waived in this state has

disappeared from the discussion of Congress. It is noteworthy that on the issue of

debt waiver of farmers, the Congress had won the assembly elections in Madhya

Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. Only after Kamal Nath was sworn in as the

Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, orders were issued on the farmers’ waiver file.

In the remaining two states, it was decided by the Congress governments within a

short time. Now even after so many days of formation of government in

Jharkhand, the question of debt waiver of farmers is being avoided by the

Congress. It is a different matter that Chief Minister Hemant Soren himself

campaigned on this issue. But this question on the Congress is inevitable because

it is its issue, due to which it has got success in the assembly elections of

Jharkhand along with other states. In other words, after a long time, this assembly

election has also been given to the Congress to stand again in this state.

Congress is silent on this and people are confused

Even after this, neither statements are being issued by the party on the issue of

debt waiver, nor the government is being asked any question about it. This

attitude of the partyis definitely surprising the people of the state, especially the

voters who voted for it. party is still spared from reviewing the work of the

government. On this question, informally many of the party leaders only said that

the party has never left the issue. Due to other equations of the government, there

is definitely a delay in this work. But it is expected that soon the government will

take a decision on this issue as per its promise.
