I did not believed that 22 MLAs will break away : Kamal Nath

Bhopal: I did not really believe that so many Congress MLAs will split and leave

the party. Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh

Kamal Nath today said that he never had confidence that 22 MLAs of his party

would leave. Mr. Kamal Nath said this in response to questions during a

discussion with reporters through video conferencing here. Shri Kamal Nath said

that along with him, senior leader Digvijay Singh was also not confident that 22

party MLAs would leave us due to such temptation. Shri Kamal Nath said that he

has a complete list of what works of these 22 erstwhile MLAs were done in the

government. But now they do not want to go into these things. He said that in the

coming time, a total of 24 seats in the state are to be held. Voters are aware. And

they understand that they have been deceived. Therefore, the Congress hopes that

they will win the elections in most of these seats and then how this government

will remain in power. In response to a question about the alleged displeasure of

Congress legislators during the previous government, Mr. Kamal Nath said that

he never outsourced the government. He used to run his own government. Had

meetings with ministers and officials. Amidst all this, they also tried to meet the

MLAs.

I did not know that MLAs are unhappy

He did not accept that the MLAs were unhappy. In response to questions related

to prevention of corona virus infection, Mr. Kamal Nath claimed that his

government had taken adequate steps in time. The first corona test was held on 19

March. But during the tenure of the current government, the situation has become

very serious. Hospitals do not have adequate resources to treat corona. The

government should be asked in this regard. In response to questions related to the

nomination of the State Congress President and Leader of Opposition in the

Assembly, Mr. Kamal Nath said that the Congress President will take appropriate

decision in this regard when the time comes. Earlier, Mr. Kamal Nath mentioned

the main steps taken during his tenure. He also referred to the farmer’s loan

waiver scheme and said that loans of farmers were waived in two phases. The

next phase was to start from the month of June. He expressed the hope that the

current government will continue the scheme to waive the loans of farmers.
