Police officers’ liquor party in lock-down and curfew

Guwahati:  Police officers’ liquor party has witnessed a huge backlash amid

lock-down and curfew. In the Northeast, Corona has been taking a fierce approach

day by day. Meanwhile, this party of officers has now come under scrutiny. At

least six more Kovid-19 patients have died in the state since last night, taking the

total number of deaths in the state to 25 since Corona infection. Today a total of

696 positive cases have been detected in the state, of which 423 were from

Guwahati. Only the city of Guwahati registered 423 Covid-19 cases on 8 July,

while 696 new cases were reported across Assam. State Health Minister Himanta

Biswa Sharma said that the total number of confirmed cases in Assam had

increased to 14032.

Meanwhile, to prevent the corona virus when the lock-down in Guwahati was

underway by day and the curfew at night, the police, who saw the law and order

media about a cocktail night party on a ship in Brahmaputra of police officers.

This video shows police officers blowing up jams. Women are also seen in the

video in the party. They are being told by the police department. Other women are

reported to be family members of police officers. As soon as this video went viral,

there was a disturbance in the administrative system.

Departmental action started after strong attitude of Chief Minister

As directed by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the Home Department has

initiated disciplinary action against several police officers who attended the party

on a river night on the Brahmaputra and violated the rules of lockout and curfew

in the city. After getting information about this case, Chief Secretary Kumar

Sanjay Krishna directed the Police Commissioner to investigate the matter.
